Brother Ocr Software Control Center 4 Scanner

While I can use my printer (Brother MFC J615W) on my home network, for some reason I cannot now get my printer to be recognized on my network map. I have attached a couple screen shots that show what comes up when I request a network map via the control panel. At the page bottom it says the following devices have been detected (my printer) but can not be placed in the map (it doesn't say why). I cited the above first because it may have something to do with the following much more important problem. While I am able to get the printer to print a text document from my (laptop) computer (which of course confirms that it is on the wireless network), I am unable to get the printer to connect to my laptop when I'm attempting to scan a document from the printer to my computer. Actually I'm trying to get it scan the document with OCR before sending it to my computer, but it makes no difference whether I just try to scan the document to file as a jpg image or scan with OCR to a file.in either case it's not successfully connecting to my computer.and I even moved my computer to within 3-4 feet of my router.but still no connection. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding or overlooking something here, but I don't know what it is.
Is there anyone who might have an inkling as to why I can't get the printer to scan to the computer over my wireless network? Edit: I've added another screen clip attachment to also show that when I attempt to operate my printer from my computer using the Brother Control Center I get a window telling me it cannot locate the printer (which is on the network). Click to expand.Actually, when I look at your screen shot, I think it is complaining about not finding the scanner.
If it were me I'd try to solve that problem first, as its solution may well also be the solution to communication initiated from the scanner. I'm not familiar with any Brother products, but will offer two suggestions. It is possible that the PC remembers the IP address of the scanner, but that address has changed. After experiencing a similar problem (printer function 'lost') I assign a static IP address to my multi-function printer. Secondly, maybe something in the Brother software got corrupted, and a fresh install will clear up the issues.

Please forgive my stultified and obtuse 70 year old mind, but I'm not sure whether I'm missing your point, you're missing mine, both or neither.hah! I am puzzled by the fact that my computer can find the printer/scanner to print a document, but the Brother Control Center program (also in my computer) cannot find the printer/scanner.
Additionally, the identifiers, in whatever form they are, should be the same for the printer or scanner function of the same machine, should they not? Your comments seemed (to my befuddled gray matter) to imply the scanner is separate from the printer. The function is certainly separate, but for network communication matters they both are recognized by the same (multi-function) device identifier, are they not? The other puzzlement (perhaps a related issue, perhaps not) was why the printer didn't show on the Windows network map, but was shown when I clicked on the 'See full map' button.
On the full map it stated simply that this device (the printer) can not be displayed on the map, but gave no explanation as to why. The basic network map only showed the computer ('this computer' in parenthesis), the ('Linksys') network, and the Internet (source). So what's causing the printer/scanner device to not be displayed on the network map.???? As for the corrupt software possibility, I had that same suspicion, but re-installing the Brother Control Center program from the original disks that came with the printer, it made no difference when I again tried to scan a document remotely from the computer. It still couldn't locate the device. Methode lafay femme pdf 2017.
