Hi redditors. First post here. Am a pretty new golfer. Playing for slightly over a year and taking lessons currently. Coach has told me that my Maruman Exim Nano Extra Impact driver with a SR flex shaft is too soft for me.

I'm currently gaming a Maruman Exim Nano Extra Impact 10* loft SR flex driver. This driver hits straight but short balls with a slow swing. Speeding up to my usual swing (approx 85-90mph) results in inconsistent shots.

Hunting for a new big stick. Tried a few of the 2015 drivers. Mostly indoors into a net, some on LMs. As such impressions are mostly on feel - Taylormade R15 10.5* Loft - R Flex: felt really really really solid on good hits.

Sound was lower pitched and loud. Feel was probably a bit too solid though as on mishits could feel the sting in my hands a touch. Taylormade R15 10.5* Loft - S Flex: same as above.

Probably felt a bit more solid than R Flex (but that could just be placebo) however on mishits could really feel the club head twisting hard. Can only imagine how the SLDR would be if the R15 is considered forgiving. Taylormade Aeroburner 10.5* loft - R Flex: Blew me away on the first few hits. Felt really good. Almost as solid as R15. Very fun to hit. Was surprised, as I really didn't want to like this club (graphics and the v****a like slot in red turns me off).

Felt easier to hit than R15, probably due to the light weight. R15 felt really head heavy compared to this. Taylormade Aeroburner 9.5* loft - S Flex: Same as above, def lower launching, almost hit a few stingers. S Flex took away some of the sweet feeling on the R Flex, but again cld be placebo.

Went to try both Aeroburners a second time after trying the drivers below, and was quite dissapointed. They felt harsh and unforgiving after 20+ hits. Was probably attracted to them the first time around, because they felt so different (along with the R15) from other drivers. But this might not be a suitable driver long time - probably a good one time fling. Titleist 915 D2 10.5* loft - S Flex Diamana (grey shaft): Was very disappointed. Have tried the 913 D2 and loved the feel but this was a huge disappointment. Dead feeling on all hits, but didnt seem difficult to hit.

Perhaps it was the shaft. I did try the 913 with a Diamana but it was a blue shaft (unsure of specific model). Nike Vapor Speed 10.5* loft - R Flex (JV spec): tried this at a driving range before. Definitely more consistent than my Maruman but the shaft wasalso too soft. Can flex the shaft even when I gently sole the club just like my Maruman. Decent feel but the ramen like shaft is definitely too soft.

Nike Vapor Pro 9.5* - S Flex Diamana: same shaft as with the Titleist 915 above but felt way better. Didnt have too much difficulty launching it. Felt more solid than the Vapor Speed.

Callaway Big Bertha 815 (regular, non DD version) with Oban Isawa Red Regular flex shaft: Heavy head like the Tmag R15, felt difficult for me to get up to full speed. Felt like a slightly softer R15 but the feel was a bit dead/boardy in my hands.

Couldn't fall in love with it as much as I tried. Callaway X2Hot with Oban Isawa Red Regular flex shaft: Lighter and easier to swing than the BB 815. When hit in the centre, could really feel the ball and face compress. Felt really good.
