Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft Expression Web May the source be with you, but remember the KISS principle;-) Bigger doesn't imply better. Bigger often is a sign of obesity, of lost control, of overcomplexity, of cancerous cells Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft Expression Web Layers Imitation of automatic files backup using programmable keyboard Reformatting as a way to 'restore sanity' in code view Copy-save sequence as poor man backup Usage of the Folder list Etc • • • • • • • • • • Microsoft FrontPage 2003 was and still is an excellent, but underrated HTML editor, a real masterpiece of Microsoft software engineering.
If very powerful, very flexible (for example it can be used without FrontPage extensions) and amazingly user-friendly. I definitely prefer it to Dreamweaver. Like Windows XP and Office 2003 it belong to classic Microsoft products, products create before Microsoft lost leadership and direction and started to imitate Apple.
The Office 2000 UA Control Update eliminates a security vulnerability in the Microsoft Office 2000 family of suites and programs, including PhotoDraw™ 2000, Publisher 2000, Microsoft Project 2000 and FrontPage™ 2000.Since the existing control.
The quality of FrontPage 2003 interface is close to the quality to Excel 2003 interface and that means that it is superior to other Microsoft products and is far above most competitors. Tremendous amount of insight went into designing of this interface and it shows, although unfortunately some features you discover only after several years of use ( documentation is not that good and does not emphasize innovative features present as well as optimal ways of using them). Frontpage 2003 can be installed and used on Windows 7, 8 and Windows 10. There are some nuances on Windows 10 -- see Many people view FrontPage as a tool for beginners. That's a completely incorrect view. While FrontPage is definitely 'beginner friendly' it is a very powerful professional tool. As such it is suitable for developing/maintaining complex and/or large (like this one) sites.
It has very rich functionality and after almost twenty years (since 1996) of usage I still discover new possibilities and shortcuts almost each month. Microsoft FrontPage has come a long way since it was first introduced in 1995. Each version up to and including Frontpage 2003 was a significant step forward. Version 2003 (seventh version) is a mature product that contain probably the best HTML editor on the market (again I do not see much differences in HTML editor functionality between Microsoft Expression Web.

And FrontPage 2003 and currently I do not plan to switch). And because its derivative is free, this is also the best free HTML editor.
Because its derivative is free this is also the best free HTML editor. As a really powerful and flexible HTML editor, FrontPage has little or no competition. Dreamweaver is definitely weaker in many (but not all) areas and less user friendly; it is also more expensive. For example I never got used to the crippled way Dreamweaver supports bookmarks. FrontPage support is more logical and more transparent. Like several other top Microsoft products it is now abandonware. Looks like in any aging tech company Microsoft brass degenerated quicker then middle level managers and programmers, which create products;-).
Vmware player portable. There is no reason for a portable version of it. Plus, it is not open source. If you already have a vmware account then you may be able to make your own portable operating system but most of us use bartpe. VMWARE player uses various dlls, and registry entries and sytem drivers to create the virtual drivers within the VM Machine. I had tried to get it to be portable. But on startup it looks to start services and reads registry entries within the os to start the virtualization of the real drivers on the machine. Re: Portable VMware Player ggeldorp Sep 10, 2009 4:24 PM ( in response to vikram01 ) No, unfortunately not possible since VMware Player uses kernel-mode drivers. Re: Portable VMware player Francois Lamoureux Sep 9, 2010 3:07 PM ( in response to continuum ) Well, what you end up with on your USB drive is an executable (not installer) which will run your VM as-is.
