British producer and multi-instrumentalist Dubulah (aka Transglobal Underground founding member Nick Page), collaborated with some fantastic Ethiopian musicians in Addis Ababa and the result is at times intriguing, exuberant and extraordinary, sounding simultaneously familiar yet fresh. Echoes of such diverse acts as The Abyssinians, Sun Ra, Tlahoun Gesese, Pablo Gadd, Hirut Beqele, Dick Dale and King Tubby can be heard amongst the ever-changing musical backdrop that is the album. To coincide with Dub Colossus’ visit to the UK and Europe for the summer festival season, Real World Records release a new EP on digital and CD, ‘Return To Addis’ (Real World Records/ RWEP13), which features all unheard material: two new tracks and two remixes from the album ‘A Town Called Addis’. Dub Colossus line-up: From Ethiopia Sintayehu ‘Mimi’ Zenebe (vocals), Tsedenia Gebremarkos Woldesilassie (vocals), Teremage Woretaw (vocals, messenqo), Feleke Hailu Woldemariam (saxophones), Samuel Yirga Mitiku (electric piano, organ), and from the UK Nick Page aka Dubulah (guitar, bass, keyboards, programming).
